VIP Inpatient Department

Introduction
The VIP inpatient service department, located at 18th floor of the new building and is one of the most core sectors in Sun Yat-Sen University Cancer Center, was found in the 1980s, the  beginning time of the reform and opening. Totally, 46 hospital beds with home-liked service and equipments are available. At present, there are 13 doctors (including 1 professor, 5 vice professors, 3 attending doctors, and 2 resident doctors.) and 48 nurses in the department working together to provide the best medical and nursing care for the patients.


Diagnosis and Treatment methods
The VIP inpatient service department provides optimal comprehensive medical care for patients with different cancers. Also, patients in this department have the privileges including 

1) The optimal individualized treatment strategy will be designed by experts panel comprised of experienced experts come from different departments in our hospital based on each patient’s condition and characteristics. And the consultation meeting designated be held every Monday afternoon. 

2)  A distal consulting meeting will be held once the patients need or patients’ disease needed. All domestic famous specialists and some abroad named experts will be invited to attend this meeting once they were needed. 

3) The patients have the right of selecting different professor who they trusted mostly in our hospital to form a team taking the responsibility during the whole process of treatment. 

4) There are famous tumor specialists of combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine, processing the therapy of combining traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and combining radiotherapy, chemotherapy, operation, biotherapy, and traditional Chinese treatment more logical. 

5) The patients will also enjoy the priority of operating all kinds of examination, treatment (operation and radiotherapy) while in the hospital, and have the specially-assigned person to take with the patient for the examination.

Facilities 
The VIP inpatient service department has two luxurious suites(including two bedrooms, one living room) and two normal suites( one bedroom ,one living room), while others are single rooms. The environment of the patient-room is quiet, perfect installation, logical layout, and advanced function, with television, fridge, water dispenser and so on
