Enrollment and Registration
The enrollment period is at the end of August or the beginning of September, 2026. The specific date will be indicated on the SYSU Admission Letter.
Admitted students should apply for an X1 visa with the Admission Letter and the Confirmation Form for Study in China at the Chinese Embassy or Consulate, complete registration at SYSU in person according to the registration date and location specified in the Admission Letter, and then convert the X1 visa to a student residence permit within 30 days after entering China.

International students with expired visas or residence permits are not allowed to live on campus or participate in campus activities.

Due to the limited number of on-campus dormitories, self-funded students are responsible for arranging their own housing. Students awarded the Chinese Government Scholarship or the Sun Yat-sen University Scholarship for International Student University will be provided on-campus accommodation according to relevant regulations.
On-campus accommodation fees vary by campus, building type, and room type, ranging from RMB 3,000 to 18,000 per academic year (excluding fixed-rate utilities). The final amount is subject to the official rates published on the "Sun Yat-sen University Payment Portal".
