Dr. Zexian Liu is focused on the systematic discovery for cancer-related PTMs, deeply explored the effects and mechanisms of PTM regulation in pathological processes through integrating bioinformatical prediction/analysis and experimental studies. The main achievements were as follows: 1) developed the quality control strategy and data standard for the integration of dynamic regulation data for critical PTMs such as phosphorylation, acetylation, etc., and constructed related data resources; 2) developed the computational methods and tools to dissect the biomacromolecular network for PTM regulation and its aberrance in cancer, and further explored the mechanisms; 3) explored the treatment strategy and biomarker of targeting the PTM system. Dr. Liu published over 50 papers with major contribution, and more than 200,000 web visitors used the databases and softwares he developed.
